How to Reduce File Size to Send and Outlook Attachment



If a file is too large or you have multiple files you will need to compress the files into a compressed folder.

Limit of Outlook Attachments

Outlook only allows a combined attachment size of 20 MB for attachments.
If the combined files you want to send or the file itself exceeds this limit, Outlook will not allow you to send the attachment.

How to reduce your files size

To reduce the size of a file(s) you can compress the file to a zip folder. If the file is under 20MB it should be good to send.



Attach the compressed file to your email.


Can't reduce the file size enough to send?
Upload the file to SharePoint and share a link instead, this will allow your recepient to download the file on their end which won't hit a limit from a mail server.
